The Dinosaurs that once roamed North America are long extinct. However, their remains have been unearthed from ancient river beds. Petrified bones range in size from small pieces to over a meter long. While in the earth for millions of years, they underwent a process of mineralization which imbued them with a variety of colours.Â
Mosaic art, although known for centuries was a fading art form, until recently. Tom Chant, in his own version of the ancient art of mosaic, complements the natural beauty of the dinosaur bone with the addition of amber, mammoth tusk, and semi-precious stones, creating an original art object of lasting value and elegance.Â
